Trying out different layouts in my show space!
I have a large grey floor space for the show which I want to make the most of. I want to lay down a lot of photocopies, but not so much that it deters people from coming into the room.

Playing with corner spaces.
For the degree show, I have a really good space which has four walls, and four corners. I have been thinking about where the photocopies should be in regards to these corners, and I like the idea of having them stemming from one onto three of the walls.

This paint is used to paint the floors in our studios - as it is not matt paint it picks up light and shadows really well. I think this creates an interesting dynamic to my photocopies, which are very flat. I like the way new objects are formed, with new textures and shapes, mirroring how we create false and distorted memories within our mind.

Experimenting with grey paint behind the photocopies
Experimenting with different greys behind the memory gaps.
I think that grey would work better behind my photocopies than the white gallery wall, as the wall suggests an emptiness, where grey is a mid colour. Mid way between remembering and forgetting.
